06 | The Centurion

“It’s been centuries, but The Centurion remains. As pristine as when it first arose. I still remember when I first met him.

It’s an odd thing. You can meet someone who will change the course of your very existence; who will rewrite the code of your perception and teach you the true meaning of a friend. An ally. And despite the scale of this future, the universe that will form from this chance encounter, the mind and body know nothing. All I saw was a man. And now, looking at this tribute, I see that even now, the world knows nothing of who they treasure. This statue could never truly show the god of a man he was. ‘The Centurion’ feels like a slight; a misemploy of words. Nevertheless, I will spend the remainder of my years endeavoring to show them, for the first time perhaps, an inkling of what you truly were to this world.

I miss you dearly, my friend. The HereAfter is lucky to be your eternal abode. Wish me luck on my travels, until we reunite.”
